After Your Presentation: Follow Up

After your presentation, follow up with a thank-you note, a survey, or supplementary reading material, like a slidedoc.

This will keep your message fresh in people’s minds. But don’t overtly solicit your audience. Instead, they should feel they’re getting additional insights and value—not doing extra work that benefits you more than it does them. When we wrap up a webinar on presentations, we set up a URL where the audience can access free digital content from our books on the topic. Attendees love getting free, useful tools like this. More than a fourth of them download the files.
